Time is running out!

The 01.07.2022 will be a decisive day for the fund industry: Because as of this date, two important regulations will come into force on a binding basis:

With the PRIIP regulation, all UCITS-KIIDS will finally be replaced by the new PRIIP-KIDS, which will be mandatory as of 01.07.2022.
In addition to this serious changeover, which poses considerable technical challenges for all capital management companies, the EU Disclosure Regulation, which will also be mandatory for the entire financial sector from 01.07.2022, requires additional changes with regard to the disclosure of sustainability indicators for all financial products offered.

The requirements of the PRIIP Regulation and the EU Disclosure Regulation are complex: In terms of content, for example, transaction cost assessments and performance scenarios are required for all fund products, sales prospectuses must be rewritten in line with sustainability criteria, and risk aspects must be taken into account.

Much more serious, however, are the technical challenges posed by these regulations. New, previously uncollected data must be taken into account. Above all, processes must be implemented that reliably ensure the necessary calculations, updates and publications.

The technical implementation of the requirements associated with the two regulations is extremely complex and should not be underestimated. Even the BVI recently pointed out again that the technical implementation of the PRIIPs information for the large number of mutual funds would require a preparation time of at least 12 months.

It is therefore high time to adapt systems and processes to the complex changed requirements!
